Restoration at Mountainside Holistic Clinic
Complete Wellness – Through Prevention, Healing, and Hope
Dr. Jessica Zummo, BCDNM, brings healing and well-being to her patients with her whole body approach to complementary medicine.
Each new patient begins with a 2 hours initial appointment that includes an extensive evaluation of the patient’s medical background and current condition.
After this visit, she puts her knowledge and training to work—researching the best holistic and natural treatments needed for better health and well-being for her patients.
Together with other primary and alternative medicine practitioners, she seeks to achieve health and well-being for each person she treats. This willingness to work with other medical professionals is what makes Zummo’s practice complementary medicine.
Believing that God has a better healing method, a more natural way of healing the body, is her focus and approach to patient care and treatment. “God opens doors, and God knows what we need.”
What is a Board Certified Doctor of Natural Medicine and Naturopathic Medicine? Naturopathic Medicine emphasizes disease prevention and natural therapeutics to achieve the best health for the person.
Some people use the term ND for Naturopathic Doctor, which Virginia licensed until 1972. The Virginia Association of Naturopathic Physicians emphasizes that Naturopathic Medicine encourages the self-healing process and blends knowledge of natural therapies with current advances in understanding health and science.
Whether to use ND or DN is up to the individual. What is essential is the training and the examinations passed by the practitioner, which are required to be certified by the American Natural Wellness Practitioners Board.
“I believe in our medical freedom. Freedom to choose what we do or don’t put into our bodies. I offer an alternative approach to disease prevention.” Looking to holistic and traditional medical approaches to wellness, Zummo can treat various illnesses with success. “I believe there is nothing that cannot be healed through the gifts God has provided for use here on Earth.”
One of the treatment methods Zummo uses in her practice includes orthomolecular medicine. This form of care uses only substances naturally found in the body to restore and maintain health. The main idea is to create an optimal nourishing environment in the body, viewing disease as a reflection of deficiencies or excesses within the body. Correcting the imbalance is based on the patient’s unique biochemistry and employs vitamins, minerals, amino acids, trace elements, and fatty acids.
Zummo received education in Forensic Pathology & Virology from West Chester University, completed the Certified Holistic Health Practitioner program at the Trinity School of Natural Health. After passing the required examinations, she became a Board Certified Doctor of Naturopathy by the American Natural Wellness Practitioners Board.
